We’ve got some travel gear that we couldn’t do without – and we want to share some gear tips with everyone!
I (Petra) use a Canon EOS 650D, or Rebel T4i (if you’re in the States). I absolutely love this camera, it fits perfectly in my hand and takes great photos. It’s my first DSLR and it’s great! I love the touch screen – makes life a lot easier compared to fiddling around with buttons! This camera is no longer on store shelves, so the newer Rebel T5i is the one you should go for. You can purchase on Amazon via the link below (if you buy through this link, we get a small commission which helps us to keep travelling!):
Shaun uses a Sony NEX-6 mirrorless camera, which is a pretty recent purchase. It has been excellent so far – the image quality is outstanding and it’s great for when we don’t want to carry the more bulky Canon around. You can find it on Amazon at the link below:
We also have a GoPro Hero 3+, which is also a relatively recent acquisition. It’s great mounted to a monopod on the front of a bike or walking through city streets! You can buy the GoPro Hero 3+ here:

We can’t do without our Macbook Air. Seriously, this thing is amazing! It’s so thin and light and fast. It’s pricey for the hard drive space it has but you can get a cheap portable hard drive to boost your GBs. Purchase via Amazon here:
When on the road, it’s nice to have some music coming through a decent speaker. We were given the UE Boom as a gift and it’s amazing! It has such great sound, is water-resistant, and is (most importantly) compact. Here’s the Amazon link:
